Born in 1955. He has received B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees at the Istanbul Technical University Aeronautical Engineering in 1979 and 1981, respectively. He has received another M.Sc. degree at Stanford University in 1984 and completed Ph.D. study in Aerospace Engineering Department of the same University in 1986. He has received several national and international scientific and technical awards. He has received technical and program management courses and trainings from Boeing.

He has worked for NASA in California as a researcher between 1983-1987. He has worked for TAI (Turkish Aerospace Industries, Inc.) between 1988-1995 as Aerodynamics Chief Engineer and during this assignment he has set up CFD infrastructure in TAI, carried out NATO supported projects. He has leaded the aerodynamic design of the first Turkish unmanned aerial vehicle UAV-X1. He is one of the initial 2 engineers who worked in the pre-feasibility and feasibility phases of FLA (Future Large Aircraft) which is today’s A400M military transport plane. He has worked as a professor between 1995-1997 in Istanbul Technical University (ITU) where he advised several M.Sc. and Ph.D. students. 1995 to 1997, parallel to professorship he served to TAI as a consultant. He has been as the Ptojects Development Coordinator being responsible for all the design and development projects between the years 1997 and 2002. At this post he was one the main contributors achieving Turkey to be a full member of A400M program group.  He set up the project management infrastructure and organization in the internationally accepted standards. He has worked as president and technical coordinator of Cyprus Turkish Airlines in 2003 and 2004, he has added new aircraft to the company and increased profitability. Since 2004 he works as a professor and Mechanical Engineering Department Chairman of TOBB-ETU.
